Volkswagen Golf TDI Hybrid

Full Description: Volkswagen Golf TDI Hybrid - Volkswagen has confirmed the speculation that it will be displaying a hybrid diesel-Golf at the Geneva Motor Show next week. The Volkswagen Golf TDI Hybrid will be in fact a strong parallel hybrid capable of operating either off the diesel engine, an electric motor, or both. As expected, start-stop capability is part of the deal. Oddly, the transmission uses a 7-speed DSG double-clutch transmission instead of a certain type CVT. The Volkswagen Golf TDI Hybrid will apparently reach a fuel consumption of 69mpg or 3.4L/100km (US). VW has not released any photos or other information on the Golf Hybrid although we will give you a shot of the Golf BlueMotion yet.
The Europeans have paid $ 3 - $ 4 per gallon years now, which is why so many of their vehicles are powered by diesel engines. Forget the "smoked smelly, slow" reputation-modern turbodiesels are clean and fast (although they certainly do not feel that all major), and diesel fuel is generally cheaper than gasoline. Easily mean I the rise of 40 MPG in a Golf TDI with an automatic transmission. During a week of testing the 5-speed Jetta TDI (mechanically it is virtually identical to the Golf) and averaged 46 MPG, as well as the Civic Hybrid had led the previous week, and TDI is faster and more fun to drive. One of the biggest diesel engine (and most often overlooked) benefits is not based on foreign oil . Diesels can run biodiesel, a synthetic fuel made from vegetable oil and methanol, with no modification. Hybrids still need gasoline, a non-renewable resource, Volkswagen Golf TDI Hybrid too.
